It is associated with how safe you feel, your sense of security and how grounded and prosperous you are. When the root chakra is closed, you can be prone to worry and over thinking. Your sense of security and stamina may be low. Physically this can manifest as eczema, bad circulation, poor elimination and low sex drive.
The Meaning of the New Moon
The new moon is the dark moon. It is a time when the subconscious mind is highly receptive and an excellent time for planting the seed of something you want to create. You can plant the seed by envisioning, writing it out, or through prayer. They are all powerful.
Each day following the new moon consistently nurture your creation. Give it time, give it energy and watch your idea begin to take form and grow as the moon comes into fullness. Some creations will take one cycle and some will take several cycles until reaching completion.
A Quick & Easy New Moon Meditation
Sit down in a comfortable position with your back straight. Place your hands in front of you as if you are holding an imaginary ball. Close your eyes. Imagine a white luminous ball above your head. Inhale for four counts, and as you do imagine you are inhaling white light from the ball into your hands. Now exhale for four counts. As you do, imagine the white light going from your hands into the imaginary ball in between your hands. Continue to breath the white light into the ball for a total of 5-10 breaths. Now imagine your creation in your mind’s eye. It is fully complete and you see it vividly and feel all the emotions that go along with that accomplishment. Transfer the vision into the ball, raise your arms up and let the ball go. You have released your creation out into the universe. You have aligned yourself with the Divine and are now co-creating together.
The Mars/Saturn Conjunction in Scorpio
On February 20, 2016 Mars will enter Scorpio and will remain there until September 17, 2016. This will begin the conjunction of Mars and Saturn, a potent combination indeed. Mars (Mangala) and Saturn (Shani) are radically different energies.
Mars represents pure energy and vitality. He is a planet of ambition and moving fast. He wants to act, fight and win and therefore represents athletes, heroes and warriors. Saturn on the other hand is slow moving, cautious and calculating. He is also ambitious, but he wants to take his time. He represents patience, responsibility, commitment and discipline.
What can we expect? The house in your chart where this combination is happening is going to be a hot spot for the next seven months. Theses two energies will combine to create an intensity that will likely cause you to focus on that area and work very hard there. It is certainly a time where you can make heroic leaps in that area. This is a workaholic combination and can sometimes lead to burn out. It is important to note that Mars is the stronger planet here, since he is in his on sign of Scorpio. Saturn is the guest. Mars is the land lord and he is running the show. As a result, there will be more action and risk taking and less caution. This can be extremely helpful in breaking out of ruts and finally taking action on something you may have been procrastinating on.
