Hypnosis is a powerful tool for change. It can help you reduce weight, create peace-of-mind, have confidence, open yourself up to a new relationship and more. If it feels like there is always something or someone blocking you from creating what you want to be, do and have, then you could benefit from investing in a series of hypnosis sessions. Hypnosis can help you to remove the block in your subconscious mind that is stopping you from having the life that you want.
What Is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a highly focused natural trance state where the body is extraordinary relaxed, the conscious analytical mind is at rest and the fluctuations of the mind cease. It is in this state that the subconscious imaginative mind is open and receptive and highly responsive to suggestion. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. We naturally go into a hypnotic state whenever we experience selective awareness, such as when watching a movie, reading a book, listening to music or driving on the highway, therefore anyone can be hypnotized.
The Consious Mind
The conscious mind makes up only 10%-20% of our mind. A good way to understand the mind is to view the brain as the hardware, and the mind as the software. And just like software in a computer, the mind can be changed. The conscious mind is our analytical reasoning mind. It is the part of our mind that controls our five senses and our will power.
The Subconscious Mind
The subconscious mind makes up the other 80%-90% of our mind. It is the seat of our power and imagination, storing every memory and belief. It is our creative intelligence, the seat of our emotions and controls our anatomical nervous system. It is literal and does not discern between fact and fiction. It is an association making mechanism, moving away from pain and toward pleasure and it does exactly what we tell it to do.
The Power of a Focused Mind
When the mind is focused, or the conscious mind and subconscious mind are aligned, the mind is enormously powerful. A good way to understand this phenomena is through observing the rays of the sun. Everyday the sun’s light radiates out over the earth. The light and heat created are relatively weak because the rays are scattered or spread out over a vast area of space. However, if we were to take a magnifying glass and focus the sun’s light to a single point on a leaf, the intensity of the light would be so strong that it would burn a hole through the leaf. This is the immense power of focused light or energy.
The mind works similarly. When our thoughts are fragmented our energies are dispersed and the power of the mind is compromised. However, when the chatter in the mind is still and our awareness is focused on a single point of interest, the mind becomes like a laser beam. We have the power to be and create anything we can imagine.
The regular use of self-hypnosis allows us to develop this optimum whole mind way of being.
